Introduction Blog

  


    I am Peyton Young, an 11th-grader at Fort Lauderdale High School in the Cambridge magnet program. I have one sibling: an older sister named Ashlyn. Ashlyn is two years older than me, making me the youngest in my family of her, my mom, and my dad. Also making up my family are five pets, one dog and four cats. I've always had a great love for animals and having four cats at home is a dream come true for me, even though it may seem like a living nightmare for others. The cats I own are one tabico, one grey tuxedo, and two tiger kittens who are brother and sister. As for my dog, we don't really know what she is.



    Although I am definitely a homebody, I also have many hobbies that I enjoy outside of the house. One of these is tennis which I try my best to do at least once a week with three of my friends at a local park from around four to eight after school. None of us are very good but we still enjoy the sport. The piano is also another interest of mine, as I have been in lessons since I was around five years old and have been with at least three different studios and teachers since. I also used to do martial arts classes three times a week with one of my best friends who recently graduated and went to UF. I recently stopped these classes at the start of my junior year to allow time for the many clubs I want to join. I also stopped because I got a summer job at a nearby ice cream shop where I work twice or three times a week.




    Besides animals, I enjoy many other things in life such as movies, shows, and books. A few of my favorite shows recently are Dynasty and iZombie (very contrasting genres, I know.) One of my favorite movies is Army of Thieves because the main character Ludwig Deiter really just makes the film. As for books, I will always stand by the books Need by Joelle Charbonneau and The Downstairs Neighbor by Helen Cooper. 



    Besides digital predictions and literature, I also love hanging out with my friends which I would probably say is my favorite thing to do. I am always going to be a friends first type of person who loves to be there for them and spend as much time with them as possible when I can. I have four really close friends who are the best people in my life who also unfortunately all go to different schools than me. Two of those friends I have known since sixth grade and have managed to stay in contact and close with them all the way until now and I plan to keep that going even when we all graduate.


    Lastly, I am I huge fan of music, both playing it and listening to it. I am the type of person who absolutely cannot function without listening to music. Whether I'm walking to class, getting ready, brushing my teeth, or even showering, I am listening to music. Some of my top artists right now are Keshi, Grentperez, and Takayoshi. They all share a very similar style of music being an R&B hip hop and alternative lo-fi mix. I love calming music with distant falsettos and delicate, textured instruments that give songs depth and emotion. In contrast, I also occasionally enjoy pop and upbeat music like Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. With our new project, I plan to discover and work with new music that I don't normally listen to.


After the music video, I am feeling more confident with filming and I am ready to take on 
the final task!

Today was our final time meeting up to film! Today, we are fixing our mistakes and creating a more coherent and sound production.       First, we tackled the comment on the busyness of the park scene. I wasn’t familiar with Marissa and Mackena’s neighborhood, as the start of this whole project was my first time being there. Marissa offered a good idea of going to their public community pool just down the street, and since it was cold outside, no one would be there to see Mackena and Riley in their toddler costumes again.        For the pool scene, this was our easiest scene to film yet. We had them sit across the pool on the chairs to make it seem like the viewer was watching them from afar. Title Research: Red Lights

     The film established a spooky ere feeling based on many factors. The music was deep fast and intriguing, it made the people watching nervous as the music sped up as pictures were shown. The color of the film representing the grey, black, and white all provoked feelings of scaredness and fear. It made the film dark and gloomy but it was also interesting to see what would happen next. It also used flashing white lights almost as a jump scare to get the person watching spooked and ready.         The images prioritized in the opening sequence were hands and windows. Making the viewer think that a person is stuck or trapped. The film also displays a lot of skulls representing death. The film also caught the viewer's eye by adding in red dots to the background of the film as the title saying red lights appeared. There was also a flashed picture of a girl which could represent a victim or potentially the main character of the film.    ...
